2. Data We Collect
Account and Contact Data:
We collect the following from all users: first name and last name; email address; phone number; address, city, state and ZIP code; profile photograph; account credentials and account settings; and language and notification preferences.
Driver Data:
In addition to the above, we collect the following from Drivers as part of onboarding and ongoing compliance: driver’s license; vehicle registration; vehicle insurance certificate and any additional insurance documentation; photograph of the vehicle; photograph of the driver; vehicle details such as make, model, year, color and license plate; background check information and the data required to run a background check; where the vehicle is owned by a company or borrowed, additional documents evidencing the right to operate that vehicle; operating permits and any other documentation required by applicable law or by us; and driver status, availability, acceptance and cancellation records and completed trip records.
Location Data:
For Passengers, we collect pickup location, destination and location while the app is in use, in order to request rides, match you with a nearby Driver, estimate fares and arrival times and display trip progress.
For Drivers, we collect precise location while you are logged in and available or on a trip, including in the background and when the app is not in active use, so that we can match you with ride requests, provide navigation and route optimization, track trips, calculate fares, support passengers, prevent fraud and support safety.
Location data is also used for trip records, dispute resolution, fraud prevention and safety purposes. You can disable location access in your device settings, but the Service cannot function without it.
Ride and Trip Data:
We collect ride requests, accepted and cancelled rides; pickup and drop-off points; the route travelled and navigation data; timestamps for request, acceptance, arrival, start and end; estimated and actual arrival times; fare, tips, tolls, fees and receipts; the Driver and Passenger associated with each trip; ratings and reviews you give and receive; and lost property reports.
Payment Data:
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers on our systems. Stripe collects and processes your card or bank details directly under its own privacy policy, available at https://stripe.com/privacy. We receive and retain limited payment information such as the payment method type, the last four digits of the card, the cardholder name, the transaction amount and status, and payout details for Drivers.
Communications Data:
We collect messages you exchange with our customer support by email, SMS or in-app; emails and SMS messages we send you, including whether you opened or clicked them; and push notifications sent to you. Where in-app chat between Passengers and Drivers or masked phone calls are enabled, we also process the related content and metadata. In-app chat is not currently available in the Applications; if we introduce it, message content and metadata will be processed as described in this Privacy Policy.
Camera and Photo Data:
We use your camera and photo library, with your permission, so that you can upload a profile photograph, upload Driver documents and vehicle photographs, and complete identity verification as described below.
Usage and Device Data:
We automatically collect Usage Data when you use the Service, including your IP address; device type, model and operating system; unique device identifiers and mobile device identifiers; browser type and version; pages or screens viewed, features used and time spent; the date and time of access; and crash reports, performance data and other diagnostic data. We also collect data your browser sends when you visit the Website.
Cookies and Similar Technologies:
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies, including beacons, tags, scripts and pixels, on the Website and in our emails to operate the Service, remember your preferences and analyze and improve the Service.
A cookie is a small file placed on your device. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when a cookie is sent. If you refuse cookies, some parts of the Website may not function.
Some parts of the Service and some of our emails contain small electronic files known as web beacons, also called clear gifs, pixel tags or single-pixel gifs, that let us count how many users visited a page or opened an email, gauge the popularity of a section, and check system and server integrity.
Analytics:
We use Google Firebase, including Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, and Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used, to diagnose crashes and to improve the Service. These providers process device identifiers, IP addresses and app or website usage events on our behalf.
Face Data:
We process face data for Driver identity verification. See the section “Face data (identity verification)” below for full details.
3. How We Use Data
We use personal data to provide and maintain the Service, including matching Passengers with Drivers, routing, navigation, dispatch, fare calculation and monitoring the use of the Service.
We use personal data to manage your Account and your registration as a user, and to give you access to the features available to registered users.
We use personal data to process payments and payouts, issue receipts and invoices, and handle refunds and chargebacks.
We use personal data to verify Drivers, including validating licenses, insurance, vehicle registration and ownership, background check results and identity.
We use personal data to communicate with you by email, phone, SMS, in-app message or push notification about bookings, driver arrival, trip updates, account and security matters and support requests.
We use personal data to send you promotions and updates about news, offers and services that may interest you, unless you have opted out. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link, by replying STOP to SMS, or through your notification settings. Service and account messages are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while your Account is active.
We use personal data to operate ratings and reviews, including moderating and acting on them.
We use personal data to prevent fraud and abuse, including identity verification, detecting duplicate accounts, fake or manipulated rides, payment fraud and abusive or unsafe behavior.
We use personal data to ensure safety, including investigating incidents, complaints, accidents and lost property.
We use personal data to analyze and improve the Service, our products and our marketing, including measuring the effectiveness of campaigns and identifying usage trends.
We use personal data to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our agreements and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We use personal data to handle business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset sale or dissolution, in which personal data may be among the transferred assets.
4. Face data (identity verification)
When identity verification is enabled, the app confirms, with your in-app consent, that the person using the driver account is the registered driver. A liveness check runs first: images of your face and, on supported devices, depth data are processed entirely on your device; depth data is never stored or transmitted and is discarded when the check completes. A selfie is then transmitted securely to Ondemand Apps OU, our data processor operating the app’s software platform, which compares it with your reference photograph using AWS Rekognition as a sub-processor. We keep face data no longer than needed and never indefinitely: the selfie is deleted automatically once verification completes, at the latest immediately upon completion or interruption of the verification session after capture; the reference photograph is kept while your driver account is active, repeated checks require an image to compare against, and is deleted within 30 days after the account closes; after each check only the pass/fail result and its date are retained, containing no face data. Face data is shared with no one except the two providers named above, solely to perform the verification; AWS processes the images transiently, does not retain them after the call completes, and does not use them to train or improve its services. Face data is never used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or analytics, and is never sold.
5. App Permissions
Our Applications request the following device permissions. You can grant or revoke each of them in your device settings; some features will not work without them.
| Permission | Why we request it |
|---|---|
| Location (while in use) | Pickup and drop-off, matching, fare and ETA estimates, and trip tracking. |
| Location (background), Driver app only | Receiving ride requests, live trip tracking, navigation and safety while the app is not in the foreground. |
| Camera | Profile photograph, Driver document and vehicle photographs, and identity verification. |
| Photos | Uploading a profile photograph or documents from your photo library. |
| Notifications | Booking confirmations, driver arrival, trip updates, account security alerts and optional promotions. |
| Face ID and device biometrics | Optional, to unlock the app. Device biometric data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. This is separate from the identity verification described above. |
6. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We share personal data with the following categories of recipients.
Ondemand Apps OU: our data processor, which operates the software platform behind the Applications and the dispatch system. Identity verification services are performed on our behalf by Ondemand Apps OU.
Amazon Web Services (AWS): hosting and, via AWS Rekognition, an authorized sub-processor used solely for identity verification, as described above.
Stripe, Inc.: payment processing and Driver payouts.
Google LLC: Firebase and Google Analytics, for analytics and crash reporting.
Background check and document verification providers: to verify Driver eligibility.
Communication providers: email, SMS and push notification delivery.
Passengers and Drivers: to complete a trip, we share limited data between them. The Passenger sees the Driver’s first name, profile photograph, rating, vehicle details and location. The Driver sees the pickup and drop-off points and the Passenger’s first name. Full phone numbers and email addresses are not shared where masking is used.
Professional advisors: accountants, auditors, insurers and lawyers, under duties of confidentiality.
Government, regulators and law enforcement: where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or a valid legal request, or is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or property, prevent or investigate abuse of the Service, protect the personal safety of users or the public, or defend against legal liability.
Successors: in connection with a merger, acquisition, asset sale or other business reorganization. We will notify you before your personal data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Our service providers may process your data only on our instructions and only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

We also retain data for longer where necessary to comply with a legal hold, an ongoing investigation or a pending claim.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may access and correct your Account data in the app or by contacting us. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You may request deletion of your personal data; we will respond to email requests for deletion or transfer of personal data within one month and confirm the date of deletion or transfer, but some data must be retained for the periods set out above, for example trip and tax records. You may opt out of marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link in emails, by replying STOP to SMS, or through your in-app notification settings.
